‘Dress Like A Tourist’ is about trying to fit in, and almost succeeding at it.
Recorded in Magic Box Dundee by producer / engineer Scotty Anderson and mastered by Robin Sutherland at Esko Mastering in Janakkala, Finland. The track features double vocals from Jonny Kirwan and Anna Doody as the contemplative lyrics explore what it’s like to traverse one of the most exciting music scenes in the world. As usual with False Friends, a strong melody and massive chorus is at the heart of the tune and crowds have been singing this one live since mid-2019.
lyrics
Lyrics:
Can't say it saved me, and it's bringing me down.
Must be contagious, what's going round.
They're singing sell me, could you take me too.
I'll buy an old suit, just for you.
Preach to yourself, no one else matters.
Never said much, disguised it as patter.
Dressed like a tourist, thought it was cool.
In with the crowd and it feels pretty new.
Under the hammer, underdressed and paid.
Exposed under the glare, i'm losing face.
Suit up and paint it on then, suit up and join the race.
Can't say it saved me.
Preach to yourself, no one else matters.
Never said much, disguised it as patter.
Dressed like a tourist, thought it was cool.
In with the crowd and it feels pretty new.
Preach to yourself, no one else matters.
Never said much, disguised it as patter.
Dressed like a tourist, thought it was cool.
In with the crowd and it feels pretty new.
Preach to yourself.
